CRFR Framework
Definition
CRFR is a BTB framework sequence for making a behavioural response observable before it becomes automatic: cognisation, recognition, feeling and response.
Purpose
The purpose is to help participants separate the moment a signal appears from the reaction that usually follows it.
Behavioural Logic
Behavioural escalation often moves quickly from internal signal to coping response. CRFR slows the sequence into observable stages.

Implementation
Participants identify a signal, name the pattern, observe the internal feeling and then document the behavioural response that follows.
Participant Example
Case reports document participants observing avoidance before task engagement, including predicted failure, shame-linked withdrawal and predicted discomfort.
Research Status
CRFR is part of BTB v1.0 and is being documented through pilot implementation and observational case reports.
Future Measurement Questions
- Can participants reliably identify each stage?
- Which stage is most predictive of avoidance?
- Can CRFR observations be standardised across participants?
