Behavioural Loop
Definition
Behavioural Loop describes the repeated sequence through which stress signal, prediction, coping response and relief can become habitual.
Purpose
The purpose is to make the repeated loop visible so it can be studied and documented before it hardens.
Behavioural Logic
Short-term relief can reinforce avoidance if the participant never observes the full loop.

Implementation
Participants document the loop across multiple events and identify where the repeated pattern begins.
Participant Example
Several case reports document repeated loops involving avoidance, predicted failure, academic shame, physiological activation or procrastination.
Research Status
Behavioural Loop is a core BTB construct being refined through case reports and cross-case observations.
Future Measurement Questions
- Can repeated loops be coded from participant reports?
- Which loop stage predicts disengagement?
- How does relief reinforce repetition over time?
